How customizable are curved edge floors really?

  • I’m intrigued by the idea of curved edge flooring — it looks so natural, almost sculptural. But I’m not sure how much flexibility you actually have when planning the layout. Can you combine it with wall cladding? Do you need a certain type of space for it to look right? I don’t want it to feel forced or random, but if done right, I imagine it could look incredible.

  • You’d be surprised how adaptable it is. The idea behind curved edge flooring is to follow the organic lines of nature — it works in both open-plan and more segmented spaces. Hoff Parquet creates layouts that seamlessly connect floors with staircases and even wall cladding. When we used wood flooring shop in Edinburgh, they customized the flow to follow our room shapes, and it completely changed the feel of the place.

  • I first saw curved edge floors in a design showroom and couldn’t stop staring. It was nothing like standard planks — the shape added movement to the room. It felt more like art than construction. Since then, I’ve seen it used in homes, restaurants, even boutique shops. What matters most is how well it’s planned. When done right, it becomes the centerpiece without being loud.
